Thermolight®100, light scattering and heat insulating insert in double-glazed U-profiled-glass window facades

With the translucent heat insulation insert Thermolight®100 U-profiled glass facades can be economically adapted to fit the modern requirements of room climate, lighting and energy efficiency. This is reflected in the enhanced heat insulation value (U-value), a lowered heat influx in the summer (low g-value) and very good glare protection. The high amount of scattered light improves the room illumination during the daylight hours.

The Thermolight®100 insulation inserts consist of very thin, spun glass fibers, which are coated with a light-stable binding agent and interwoven to form a very light and translucent glass fiber mat. The enclosed, „standing“ air cushion provides a very good heat insulation. The woven glass fibers provide perfect light scattering and room illumination without harsh shadows. Direct solar radiation and accompanying glare effects are prevented. Due to its excellent glare protection Thermolight®100 is often used in double glazed U-profiled glass facades for sports halls, as double-glazed U-glass has also passed the test for ball impact safety.

The double-glazed U-profiled glass standard construction consists of aluminum U-frames at the top and bottom, in which U-profiled glasses are installed as an inner and an outer glazing facing each other. The resulting glass cavity of 53 mm is filled completely with our translucent insulation Thermolight®100.

The insulating insert Thermolight®100 (thickness 100 mm) provides thermal insulation up to an Ug-value of 1,2 W/m² in double-glazed U-profiled glass. A typical application are window-facades for sports halls.
